Développement d’acquisition d’images en ‘2D augmentée’
X-ray and gamma-ray images are degraded due to the combined effect of detector response, scattered radiation, the size of the source, and other various parameters. Geometric unsharpness in particular not only reduces the sharpness of image edges but also reduces the overall contrast.
Most of the time, geometric unsharpness can be chosen to preserve sufficient image quality, but sometimes due to geometric, physical, or industrial constraints, geometric unsharpness is imposed and image quality results are insufficient. In this work, we lead a simulation study to evaluate the performance of a new proposed method allowing to reduce geometric unsharpness and thus improve image quality in constrained conditions. By estimating the geometric PSF, we perform a simulation-based restoration algorithm to improve image quality and estimate the localization of the defect within the thickness of the wall.
